Chapter members,
I am pleased and
excited to bring good news about our hangar restoration! We have made
good progress with the electrical repairs, thanks to our very capable
member, Robert Greene. Robert has done an outstanding job with working
with the necessary MLGW reps in getting approvals and hopes to begin
work very soon on the reconstruction of our electrical service. Also,
Robert is going to assist in providing much better lighting than we now
have. The next matter of importance is the hangar door. We have reeived
approval from our insurance company to proceed with the construction of
our new door. This construction will begin in the next few days and
should be completed and installed by early September. Our only duty will
be to install the siding on the door.
We are planning our next work
day for August 27 to begin around 8:00AM. We will focus on reinstalling
the walls that had to be removed and cleaned. I hope that all of you
can come and help us put all of this together. It is a much more
gratifying and fun to restore then to scrap out so come out and help.
Our next scheduled
chapter meeting is really going to be fun! We have been invited to Herb
Sanders newly completed house, work shop and hangar for our September
meeting. It is going to be the 2nd weekend of September, September 10,
2011 (the first Saturday is Labor Day weekend with many probable
conflicts.) We hope to serve hamburgers and hot dogs around 12:00.
Herb's place is located at Hernando / Green Village Airpark (H75).
Herb's street address is 1966 Greenport Drive, Hernando, MS 38632 and
his cell phone is (901)833-1630. Hope to have a lot of people and
airplanes show up and enjoy Herb's place.
Also, the Millington Air Show is coming up Sept 17th and 18th so stand
by for announcements as well as the B-17 in December. Lots of good stuff
coming up!
Thanks,
Eddie
