Hangar Talk

 March - April 2011

Eddie Brewer

Chapter meeting 8:00 am Saturday March 5th at Dewitt Spain EAA Hangar

Greetings,

Are you folks looking forward to Spring as much as I am? It’s just around the corner and it is our hope to have as many fun aviation related events as possible this year! As most of you already know we have a special meeting March 5th that includes breakfast as usual, followed by a very brief chapter meeting. After our meeting at 10:00 AM we will be turning over the microphone to our local FAA representatives Nadine Yeager and Troy Hart. They will provide us with an EAA specific presentation that will benefit all of us in the Experimental, Light Sport and Restoration categories, as well as certified aircraft. I have reviewed this presentation and you will not want to miss this!

We’re not through yet!!!

Following the FAA presentation, there will be a catfish lunch with all the “fixins”. This will be provided by our member, Jim Haywood, and his “rolling kitchen”. Can't wait!

There have been a number of our members helping with the preparation for this seminar.

Thanks to all of the volunteers.

The new table contributions are coming in quite often. To date the following members have donated:

Dwight Smith, Alexis Meaders,Frank Civera, Bill Hibbing,Helen Wilson, Jim Haywood, Jay Lehman,

Marvin “Shack”Shackelford, WallySoplota, Eddie Brewer and the Boy Scout Troop 27. Thank you so much

for the generosity of all who have contributed. Anyone who feels compelled to donate toward our tables either contact me or Frank Civera. The cost is $55.00 and I will handle the purchase and delivery of the tables. We have decided to provide a plaque with the contributors listed who donated. We hope to complete the table project by April, so thanks again to all.

Please, all who can, fly in to the March meeting do so , so we can have a good showing of aircraft for our visitors who come to the seminar to view. Also, remember that all meals are free for fly-in attendees. We hope this to be a good fund raiser for our chapter. Also, if each member makes it a goal to recruit just one new member this year, what a difference it could make!

See everyone at the meeting and bring a friend!
